OPTIONAL TOUR

FOM2000 Secretariat is planning to hold optional tours after the conference. Both technical and sightseeing tours are planned for FOM2000 participants specially those coming from overseas. A very limited number of participants are available for the tours at discounted rate and they will be assigned on a first-come,first serve basis. FOM2000 reserves the right to cancel any tour should minimum numbers not be met.

Please indicate your choice on the Optional Tour Form (PDF).

Because space is limited, you are required pre-register for these tours. The payment for the tour must be made at the FOM2000 Registration Desk during the conference.

Kyoto Sightseeing Tour

Kyoto is one of the most famous city which is rich in world-celebrated cultural heritage. There are magnificent structures and gardens created during various periods since the 8th century. In December 1994, UNESCO dcrared that 17 historical buldings in Kyoto such as temples, shrines and castles were recognized as World Cultural Heritages. In this tour, you can visit there and find the deep Japanese culture.

The tour fee includes one-way train ticket from Shirahama to Kyoto, hotel accommodation and breakfast.

Nikon Technical Tour

Since the first ever reduction-projection exposure step-and-repeat system ("stepper") was produced for VLSI manufacturing in 1980, NIKON became one of the world-wide leading companies in the field of IC and LCD Manufacturing. In this technical tour, Nikon will introduce it's manufacturing process at Yokohama Works for FOM2000 Participants. The Yokohama Works produces UV microscopes, wafer-inspection instruments, and manufacturing process for step-and-repeat processor for liquid crystal display panels.

The tour fee includes one-way SHINKANSEN ticket (bulet train) from Kyoto to Ohfuna, hotel accommodation and breakfast.

Train tickets are available
at discount rate for going back to Osaka or Tokyo on 15 April. For the way back to Osaka and Tokyo costs 12,000yen and 4,000 respectavely.
